So since this discussion is going to be interesting I decide to make a new topic to disscus our new forum!

We star to discuss it here http://www.ucozers.ucoz.com/forum/2-257-1 but it's a big off topic, so here is topic and lets talk about it here!

I have worked to the new design and will soon apply it, so we are going to the black and white this two colors will be our forum colors smile

And about link, I think we will move from http://ucozers.totalh.com/ Forum to the http://ucozers.totalh.com/

And about what heysupp said about MyBB I will check it out, but phpBB I can access to all needed files images, css, html, php and other, and here is so many features that I even dodn't understand some of them, so I think we don't need more wacko

In new design witch I will apply after few minutes will be side bar with all exchange banners, so if you see there your banner, change link in your site from old to new

For now it is all

Well that's because those free forum softwares are done in PHP. If you have access, and Im pretty sure you don't, to the css file of your forum, then it wouldn't be hard.

If I'm not mistaken, the new forum has a simple Design Customization-like section?

If you get your own domain, whether it be co.cc or whatever other free domain service is out there, I will create you an updated PhpBB forum or MyBB using my hosting and administrate the privileges of it to you and the other moderators on the Ucozers forum.

I even took time out to create this http://ucozers.thexcorez.com/, if you do not want it, then I will delete the database and subdomain. If you do, tell me now. MyBB or PhpBB. (personally MyBB has more customization features than PhpBB, in my opinion).

It's a take it or leave it, kindly.

jackass, will check MyBB also since we will need to cover all the options and chose only the best hosting service, it will be unwise if we have to move our forum again because we found a better hosting forum services, it is better to do the homework right now and move the forum there...

It's a simple comparison. MyBB has two distinct differences in terms of Forum characteristics.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki....8PHP%29

List of Features: http://www.mybboard.net/features/feature-tour

It's always better to get more bang for your buck, considering it's free hosting.

You can access all the files, and from what I see, you're getting access to Vista Control Panel.
Meaning you can find all files, upload, extract .zip files (what is needed to install MyBB and/or other softwares) and even edit.

Brazen, since we have access to our DB we can backup and restore where ever we want smile
So it's not a problem.

But I will try to test MyBB wink

wow, it's really better than phpBB sad
But I didn't find as good theme for MyBB, so it will be a hard job to apply black & white theme

But there is so many options for users and visual looks much better even with stupid theme, and JS is used much more then in phpBB, tomorrow I will try to instal it on our domain and start to edit theme, hope it's not to hard.

Theme import is stupid, I don't understand how it works in phpBB there was one directori where was all themes, but I don't get it, how it works here, like all theme files is in one place lol

It's really resourceful. And relatively easy to edit themes yourself and add your personal theme. If you need help with your css I will be more than happy to help out.

That's my job. biggrin , Jk.

Anyways, I personally don't think it's very smart to move off the program that our site is made to help. If we wanted to help uCoz user's shouldn't we be on the uCoz system. I don't think it makes much sense.

The way I see it, it's a stride away from the Ucoz CMS into something even more productive.
Learning essentials to web development starts with straying away from convenient programs.

I would say Ucoz teaches you the basics of if/else conditional statements, that's about it. If you're trying to learn other web languages besides xhtml/css, that is.

Dude, it does not have to be black and white, the reason I asked to add black and white banner and other things is to much the style of this design
if this design wold have been red and blue I would ask to add deigns/banners/signatures in red and blue.

You have a good point. it is like saying let us teach you how to use uCoz cms but not actually use it ourself, basically saying it sucks...

The load times is slow. From updating profile information, to generally switching threads.

MyBB is pretty much way better than PhpBB. IPB and VBulletin, if you have the latest version is way better as well. But the downside is it's not for free.

That's true!

And if we start tu teach users to use php I think they will choose to use php scripts, like phpBB, Wordpress, Joomla etc. smile

And Brazen, I will try to make B&W design and you can make your, and users can choose witch they will use wink

I like the idea about B&W, since our graphic specialist made our logo smile

In my opinion I think you should stay in this forum! By moving you will lose all off the data, unless if you can back it up and upload it on your new forum.

Is there are reason you can't teach php in this forum?
Is it prohibited by ucoz to teach other languages than HTML and CSS?

I disagree. I use both Ucoz and another host, but I still get around to giving helpful ideas and aid to people on Ucoz.

My point was that this forum is specifically dedicated for uCoz support and nothing else and by providing help for uCozers from the other host will be kind of acquired.
I don't really know what is your forum about, but if it was specifically about uCoz support you would have kept it on the uCoz system.

But if we were to move we might as well not only help on how to maintain/modify uCoz but also the WordPress, phpBB, MyBB and etc.
Sort of like a global help.
